The hearts were already interlocked, holding each other in place the way two lives do when they become inseparable. It had shape, weight, and history before it reached my bench, but it still felt unfinished.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThen, I sculpted two baby heads by hand, cast them in 14K gold, and soldered one into each heart.  Now the ring has something slightly unsettling to keep the beauty of two hearts from becoming too polite.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI see this as a relic of attachment.
