The face of the ring (Hearts and heads) Measures 3/4" wide and 1/2" tall. The band of the ring is 2mm in the back, making it easy to wear.

This ring began as a vintage double-heart ring in 14K gold. The hearts were already interlocked, holding each other in place the way two lives do when they become inseparable. It had shape, weight, and history before it reached my bench, but it still felt unfinished.

Then, I sculpted two baby heads by hand, cast them in 14K gold, and soldered one into each heart.  Now the ring has something slightly unsettling to keep the beauty of two hearts from becoming too polite.

I see this as a relic of attachment. Two faces, two hearts joined into one another. It suggests love, family, memory, obsession, or whatever bond you recognize in it.

This is a House Relic. I have made a mold of the original ring and now have a limited run available for purchase. 2 rings in each size will be available in this drop.

Origin

The base of the piece is a genuine vintage 14K gold ring with two interlocking open hearts, sourced from an estate.

Transformation

Karen Yost sculpted the two baby heads by hand, cast them in 14K gold, and soldered them directly into the vintage heart frames at her bench in NYC. A mold was then made from this piece so that multiples could be made. Available in short runs online.

Now

A one-of-a-kind House Relic built from recycled gold and an original Karen Yost motif. It wears like a love token with potential to creep.

Care

Clean it gently with mild soap, warm water, and a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners. Store it separately when you are not wearing it.
