The deer from this necklace began as a vintage deer pin. The chain was made from two vintage puffy heart bracelets, joined into a single substantial necklace. Nothing here was bought as a set. Nothing here was meant to match in the conventional sense.
This is the part of Anomaly Relic that I care about most. Taking pieces that already have their own lives and forcing a new conversation between them. There's something about the kitsch deer from the 1950s, paired with the puffy heart chain from the 1980s, that makes it explosively sweet. I love playing with extremes in my work.
This piece is one of one, by circumstance. I had one puffy heart bracelet for two years before I found its match, and the deer pin was its own separate find. Once this necklace leaves the Reliquary, it belongs to only one person.
I made a mold of the deer in case I wanted to use her in a future project. Because she's just that good.

Care
Gold does not tarnish, but high-polish surfaces can collect fingerprints and wear. Wipe gently with a soft cloth after wearing. Keep away from perfumes and oils as best you can. Store separately to protect.
