Cast in 14K yellow gold, this House Relic charm is fully sculptural, with a smooth gold body, tiny ears, a curved snout, and two emerald eyes set deep into the face. The stones are small, vivid, and just bright enough to make the whole creature feel awake.
The tail is what makes this rat particularly magical. It is fully articulated, built from linked gold segments that move with the body instead of hanging stiff. When the charm shifts on your chain, the tail follows. 

The House Relic

House Relics begin with my own hand sculpted forms rather than an antique object waiting to be transformed. They are the other side of the Anomaly Relic language: newly made creatures and symbols built with the same obsession, then occasionally joined with vintage elements that bring their own past into the work.

Here, the body is entirely created by me. The tail had another life first. There was enough chain to make 2 rat charms. Together they make something that could not have come from a factory and will not exist again in precisely the same form.

I designed and made this rat in New York City as part of the House Relic collection: original Relic forms made in gold, with enough detail and personality to feel as if they arrived from a much older time. This is wearable mythology. Ancient in its bones. New in part of its gold.

The oversized bail is intentional, made to slide over most chains you already own. Fine cable, heavier rolo, curb chain, the one you never take off. Worn alone, it has more than enough presence. Layered with other Relic charms, it becomes part of a stranger little ecosystem.

Care

14K gold does not tarnish, but high-polish surfaces can collect fingerprints and develop a soft patina with wear. Emeralds should be kept away from harsh chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners. Wipe gently with a soft cloth after wearing, and store separately to protect the articulated tail from tangling or compression.
